A 14-year-old boy was found with a knife in his coat pocket after being chased by police. The teenager, who was arrested, was followed after being spotted by officers on patrol in Halliwell, Bolton, on Sunday (February 18).
After speaking to the three young boys, one of them ran off and a foot chase ensued. He was later caught before informing officers he was in possession of the blade.
Police then found the knife in his coat pocket and arrested him at the scene on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed article in a public place. He is currently in custody awaiting questioning.

A post shared by Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers from the #Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have been out on patrol this afternoon in Halliwell.
"Officers stopped to speak to 3 males, 1 of which decided to make off from officers. After a short foot chase, the 14-year-old male was detained and informed officers that he was in possession of a knife.
"The male was searched under Section 1 of PACE and a knife was recovered from his coat pocket. The male was arrested for Possession of a Bladed Article in a Public Place and is now in custody awaiting questioning."
