A new boutique gym and spin cycle studio is opening in a former city centre cocktail bar this month.
Ryde, a fitness firm from Leeds, is opening its flagship studio in a basement unit underneath Barton Arcade in Deansgate.
The unit that was left vacant in early 2020 when the cocktail bar shut down has been transformed into a vast new spin cycle, fitness, and yoga studio.
Ryde’s newest studio will be opening its doors on Monday, March 18 and is promising to bring an ‘unrivalled fitness experience’ to Manchester.
The gym will become part of Manchester’s growing fitness scene that includes the likes of Barry’s, TRIB3, and BLOK.
Founded by chief executive Kyle Harris, Ryde opened its first studio in central Leeds in 2022 and has since garnered a cult following and loyal customer base.
Kyle created Ryde after spending nine years working as a physical training instructor in the army followed by almost four years as a personal trainer in London’s financial district.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Kyle said: “The community we have created in Leeds has absolutely blown up and continues to grow month on month, if we can get that side of our business right again in Manchester then exciting times are ahead.”
Ryde has already received a warm welcome from other business owners in the Deansgate area. Mark Flanagan, co-founder/co-owner of Pot, Kettle, Black, said: “We’re really excited to be welcoming RYDE to Manchester and happy they chose Barton Arcade. We believe they will be a great addition to our growing community here’’.
Signature classes at Ryde include Ryde Cycle, a high-impact full-body rhythm workout, Ryde Flow, a beat-pumping yoga-inspired workout , and the muscle-defining Ryde Barre.
