Police are appealing for information after a serious crash in Stockport which saw two people cut from a van and a car. Four people were injured and two people currently remain in hospital after the collision yesterday afternoon (August 7).

The bomb squad was deployed and a police station was cordoned off after 'ammunition' was found in a river in south Manchester.
Police said the items were found in the River Mersey, near Harefield Drive in Didsbury, at around 2.30pm yesterday (Tuesday). Officers were scrambled to the scene, alongside incident commanders from the fire service and ambulance service.
The items were seized and taken to West Didsbury Police Station on Elizabeth Slinger Road. Bomb disposal experts were then called to the scene and a cordon was put in place around the station, police said.

The scene was stood down after Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers arrived. No further details on the suspected ammunition have been revealed at this stage.
Enquires are ongoing, police said. Pictures taken yesterday evening showed several emergency services vehicles stationed on Elizabeth Slinger Road.
A bomb squad vehicle was parked outside, as well as fire service and ambulance vehicles. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called just after 2.30pm yesterday (19 July 2022) to a report of ammunition found in the River Mersey near Harefield Drive, Manchester.
"Officers attended, seized the items and took them back to Didsbury police station to carry out an investigation. EOD were called as a precaution who requested that a cordon was to be put in place prior to attending.
"On arrival, the scene was stood down. Enquiries are ongoing."
