Kieran Lee will have an operation early this week on a heel spur problem but the Bolton Wanderers midfielder should be back in action before the end of the League One season.
The 33-year-old midfielder has been playing through the pain barrier recently with a heel spur that requires a bone shaving.
Initially, Wanderers hoped he would be able to get to the end of the season before having surgery in the summer to correct the issue.

But the problem has become progressively more difficult to deal with in recent months and Wanderers sent the midfielder to a specialist to ascertain the extent of the issue.
If possible, Wanderers intended to use some pain controlling methods in addition to managing his game time to ensure he could still play some part this season.
After being seen by the specialist, it has been confirmed that Lee will be going under the knife this week and will be out for a time.
But the positive news is that Lee will not be out for the rest of the campaign and is expected to be back by the start of April for the final month of the season.
Evatt told the Manchester Evening News: “Kieran’s had some good news, but he’s going to have an operation on Tuesday. But it’s not as lengthy as we thought it was going to be.
“He should be returning by I would think the beginning of April.
“I think four to six weeks is the aim so it’s quite good.
“Someone fresh as well and we’ve got Kacha and Izzy progressing really well. It’s a really good squad.”
