EXCLUSIVE: Violett Beane and newcomer Jacob Robinson have joined the cast of Christopher Landon’s Drop for Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse. The duo will star alongside previously announced Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar.
The film’s logline is being kept under wraps at this time but is said to be a fast-paced thriller.
Drop is written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach. Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller are producers. Ron Lynch and Sam Lerner serve as EPs. Drop is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.
Beane stars as Imogene Scott in Hulu’s drama series Death and Other Details opposite Mandy Patinkin for director Marc Webb. She starred in the CBS dramedy series God Friended Me as Cara Bloom for two seasons and recently wrapped filming back-to-back independent features: Chopin opposite Eddie Liu and Renner in which she stars and executive produces. Beane’s other credits include her role as DC Comics superhero character Jesse Quick in The CW series The Flash and Blumhouse and Universal Pictures $100 million hit, Truth or Dare.
Robinson, born and raised in Dublin Ireland, became an overnight social media sensation in 2022 for his endearing commentary and amusing ruminations. His parent-run Tik Tok account, @keepupwithjacob, has since clocked over 2.4 million followers. Drop is his feature film debut.
