Bill Murray Accepts Maltin Modern Master Award At Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Reflecting On His Time With ‘Ghostbusters,’ His Writing Ambitions & More

Recently, Sony Pictures presented a new clip from the highly-anticipated film, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.” While the trailer that was released a while back seemed to elicit strong nostalgic sentiment from the very opinionated (some might call “toxic”) “Ghostbusters” fanbase, the clip featuring mini versions of the Stay Puft marshmallow man didn’t necessarily generate the same sort of excitement.

The situation in Myanmar remains dire, the International Coalition of Film makers at Risk (ICFR) has warned, with prominent cultural figures continuing to be imprisoned, and in some instances even killed. To date, more than 100 professionals from the local filmmaking community have been targeted for arrest, it said.

Bill Murray revealed that he was tricked into doing "Ghostbusters II" after demonstrating his reluctance to make a sequel to the hit 1984 comedy.  Murray played the sarcastic Dr. Peter Venkman in the franchise alongside Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and the late Harold Ramis.The Academy Award-nominated actor was honored at the 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival with the Maltin Modern Master Award this week.

The actor went shirtless while swimming in the water and walking along the sand in red and gray trunks and his impressive muscles were on full display. He appeared relaxed as he took in the sun and splashing of the waves and even ran his hands through his hair at one point.
