Britain's Got Talent fans think they have worked out The Phantom's magic trick after their performance on Thursday's semi-final left judge Simon Cowell baffled. During the show, The Phantom left the judges — Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams — mystified with their mind-bending magic. At the start of the performance, The Phantom asked David to think of a childhood memory and write it on a piece of paper, as well as the time it took place.
Amanda was then asked up onto the stage where she had to go inside a box where she became "invisible" just like The Phantom. David then had to go up with his piece of paper and put it in the lost property box on the desk, he then had to stand in front of a mirror where Amanda appeared next to him on the reflection.
Amanda was then asked what David's childhood memory was as David then headed back to the panel, picking up two pieces of paper from the lost and found, while Amanda appeared again in the box. Simon was left baffled over the magic trick as he admitted: "Am I being really stupid here, as far as I'm aware... Amanda got up, stood in a box, went to mirror.
David was asked to write what he was thinking... but that part never happened." To which David then revealed what his childhood memory was, confirming that Amanda had guessed it correctly. Simon added: "Okay, I am not so stupid because none of that happened, it wasn't explained!" Viewers at home were also left equally confused but some eagle-eyed fans were quick to claim that they had "rumbled" the magic trick.
