Arcade Fire have confirmed that they will make their comeback with new single ‘The Lightning I, II’ this week (March 17).The Canadian band last released an album in 2017 with ‘Everything Now’, and have since shared 45-minute track ‘Memories Of The Age of Anxiety’ for a meditation app in 2021, and released a live version of political cut ‘Generation A’ in late 2020.Over the past few weeks, the band have been teasing their return. Earlier this month, a brief snippet of new music appeared on the contact page of the group’s official website.

Hail! Rock ‘N’ Roll, which came out the following year.They contributed to Richards’ debut solo album ‘Talk Is Cheap’ (1988) and its follow-up ‘Main Offender’ (1992), as well as touring with the musician. The X-Pensive Winos also appear on his 2015 third LP, ‘Crosseyed Heart’, and played one live show that year.The original X-Pensive Winos line-up consisted of guitarist Waddy Wachtel, keyboardist Ivan Neville, bassist Charlie Drayton, saxophonist Bobby Keys and drummer Steve Jordan – the latter of whom is now a permanent touring member of The Rolling Stones’ following the death of Charlie Watts last summer.As Stereogum reports, Richards and the X-Pensive Winos played a three-track set together at the Love Rocks benefit show at NYC’s Beacon Theatre last Thursday (March 10).

Aldous Harding has shared a new single today, ‘Fever’ – listen to the track below.It’s taken from her upcoming new album ‘Warm Chris’ and follows on from the previously released ‘Lawn‘. The New Zealand musician will release the follow-up to her April 2019 record ‘Designer’ on March 25 via 4AD.‘Warm Chris’ was produced by John Parish (who also produced ‘Designer’ and Harding’s 2017 LP ‘Party’), with all 10 tracks being recorded at Rockfield Studios. Harding’s 2021 single ‘Old Peel’ does not make the final cut, however.The album includes contributions from Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson as well as H.
