Manchester United are close to ushering in the new INEOS era with Sir Dave Brailsford likely to play a major role in overseeing it.
MEN Sport understands Brailsford has visited Carrington on a number of occasions over the last few weeks as Sir Jim Ratcliffe closes in on a 25 per cent stake in the club. It is widely understood Ratcliffe and INEOS will have the reins on sporting matters at United and Brailsford has often played a key role in that.

Up until recently he was part of the decision-making process at INEOS-owned Nice in Ligue 1 and in the summer of 2022, Brailsford was called in by Newcastle United to talk to their squad ahead of their successful Premier League campaign which ended in a spot in the Champions League. After the talk, manager Eddie Howe and sporting director Dan Ashworth spoke highly of the impact the incoming United man made on their players.
