Bernardo Silva successfully told his Man City teammates how to stop Cristiano Ronaldo before November's Manchester derby between the two sides.
Bernardo faced his Portuguese national team captain for the first time at Old Trafford earlier this season, with Manchester United and Ronaldo stifled in that comfortable 2-0 victory for Pep Guardiola's side. Ronaldo had United's only shot on target in the lifeless performance from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, as Bernardo added to an Eric Bailly own goal to pile pressure onto the beleaguered Norwegian.
The City midfielder had previously praised Ronaldo's start to life back at United and told his teammates to deprive the forward of the ball at Old Trafford. It worked wonders, with United having just 33 per cent of the ball and five shots in total.

"I think he is doing well. He is helping United with late winners this season," Bernardo told Sky Sports in November.
"He is a player that people know, he can decide the game. We're going to try and stop him, and make sure that he doesn't score on Saturday. But we're not playing against Cristiano, we're playing against Manchester United. We're going to be focussed on our job."
Bernardo also name-checked Edinson Cavani back in November, though both Ronaldo and the Uruguayan have struggled in recent weeks for different reasons — to the point where Solskjaer's replacement, interim boss Ralf Rangnick, might not start either player at the Etihad.
