Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling Ellis have shown their strong friendship as they team up amid complaints about him from former co-stars.
Giovanni, 33, has been in the middle of a dispute about his future on the show. The professional dancer has been popular on the BBC dance competition since he joined back in 2015. But his time was cut short in the latest series when his partner Amanda Abbington left halfway through.
After they left, Amanda said she had PTSD and reportedly asked for behind-the-scenes footage of their time together. It's said that Amanda met with Giovanni's ex-dance partners Ranvir Singh and Laura Whitmore to talk about what it was like working with him.
There are new reports that Steps star Faye Tozer also found it hard to work with him, reports the Mirror. In 2021, Giovanni won the Glitterball trophy with EastEnders actress Rose.
She was the first deaf contestant on the show and formed a very close bond with Giovanni. Rose recently updated her fans on her life in her latest Instagram post.
Strictly star Giovanni Pernice showed his feelings by responding with three black heart emojis in a comment. Of late, doubts have been cast about his future on the show as rumours swirl indicating he's "too intense" during training.
An unnamed source shared with The Sun: "Giovanni has a meeting with Strictly on Thursday about his return later this year. They have not received any official complaints and are backing him. He is an accomplished pro dancer and it's expected he will be taking his place in the formal line-up when it's announced later this month."
A spokesperson for the show later added: "The pro dancers for 2024 will be announced in due course."
