BBC EastEnders mystery return as past character rocks Walford in shock twist

It seems the EastEnders writing team are indulging in a hefty dose of nostalgia - with the tease of yet another show veteran returning to the BBC soap. It comes after the successful return of Cindy Beale, played by Michelle Collins, who teases the arrival of the mystery ex-EastEnder in next week's show. After being presumed dead and living under the alias Rose in Spain and France Cindy is now trying to establish a business in Walford.
Despite some hiccups with Nish and Suki Panesar, she's not giving up just yet. In next week's episodes, Cindy meets another potential buyer for the pawn shop. She suggests they team up and split the offer.
Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, isn't too sure about this plan. But Cindy insists he should trust her, especially since the mystery person is a former Walford resident. But who could it be? The new arrival follows a stream of big name comebacks, like Jacqueline Jossa who plays Lauren Branning.
However it's not all good news as there are also some major departures on the horizon. Brian Conley, who stars as Rocky Cotton, is set to leave the BBC soap in the coming weeks or months. Brian recently opened up about his departure from the show, saying: "You may have heard reports that I'm leaving EastEnders.
It was a tough decision but it is true, I am going and I made it for many reasons, that decision. It is tough because they're such a wonderful crowd, in front of the cameras and behind the cameras and I've loved my three years there. So that's the truth in the reports." He continued: "There's other parts of reports saying that I clashed with TV bosses and the crew.
