Former midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger believes Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick is the "right person" to oversee a period of change at Old Trafford.
Rangnick was appointed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's temporary successor back in November and will oversee first-team matters until the end of the season, before moving into a consultancy position.
Schweinsteiger, who spent two years at United racking up 35 appearances, knows Rangnick well from the latter's time in charge of the likes of Stuttgart and Red Bull Leipzig, where the German oversaw the development and progression of both clubs.
In Schweinsteiger's eyes, Rangnick can repeat the trick at Old Trafford, insisting he is the right man to navigate the club through a culture change, both on and off the pitch.
"I actually know him quite well as a coach from Stuttgart and Schalke but especially when he was working as a coach for Red Bull Leipzig," said Schweinsteiger, speaking on the UTD Podcast.
"He was doing some great things like how he works, how he sees the game, how he sees the club. He really can help Man United with creating a new era, with not only the game on the field but also for the whole club.
"That's what is needed at the moment and that's why I think he is the right person."
Throughout his managerial career, Rangnick has always looked to try and offer opportunities to young players as much as possible, as is already proving to be the case at Old Trafford with Anthony Elanga, who has started the Reds' last three Premier League matches.
United have a plethora of young talent looking to make the grade at Old Trafford and Schweinsteiger insists Rangnick is the man to get a tune out of them.
