Barry Robson has been left giggling over Bojan Miovski's chances of being fit for Aberdeen battle on Sunday against Rangers.
The Pittodrie boss' back has been against the wall at times this season amid a stuttering domestic campaign. But ending their Europa Conference League group stage journey with an impressive 2-0 win over Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt off the back of a last-gasp win over Hearts last Saturday has the Dons motoring ahead of Viaplay Cup final clash with Rangers.
Ester Sokler starred with a dazzling cameo against Frankfurt and netted an excellent second goal, but Miovski has undoubtedly been Robson's main man in attack this term, leading to links away in January. He was in the stands on Thursday with a hamstring strain and fingers are crossed over him making the game in Mount Florida that could end Aberdeen's nine-year wait for a trophy. And the striker was an obvious topic at Robson's pre-match presser.
When asked for an update on the striker, the Reds boss replied: "He was alright this morning. We till have another training session to go tomorrow so we will see how he is and go from there."
Robson was asked by a reporter if he was optimistic about the North Macedonian international's chances. And the Aberdeen boss dropped a grinning quip, simply saying "always optimistic, always."
He added on the game: "This is what they (the players) have worked their whole career for. One thing I know about the squad is they have gone to some big stadiums and have been used to the big occasion. I think being a cup final, all the European games will have helped with being able to play in big games.
