Nicole Hoefler, a German influencer took to TikTok to celebrate her relationship with her boyfriend after they watched Barbie together in theaters.
“The best part about the barbie movie is that my bf proved to me more than ever that he’s the best,” she wrote. “He dressed in pink. he got all the jokes and moving parts. afterwards he discussed with me what a masterpiece this movie is and how hard it must be to be a woman.”
In the caption, she urged others not to “settle for less.”
Which led to her idea for the “Barbie test.” She explained it to NBC News: Basically, it stems from asking if a potential partner saw the movie and had any thoughts on it.
“It’s like the new question on a first date or your dating profile: ‘What are your thoughts on the Barbie movie?’” she proposed. “Because if a guy really doesn’t want to see it or he’s not open to talking about it or, what’s even worse yet, if he’s seen it and he thinks it’s not a good movie or he doesn’t get the point, I think it’s kind of a no-go.”
Speaking of Barbie, director Greta Gerwig recently broke down the movie’s final moments. We also learned a lot about six scenes that were deleted from the final cut.
