2022 BAFTA TV Awards viewers were left confused on Sunday after the show appeared to be experiencing some sound issues. Show watchers took to social media after the sound appeared to cut out several times during nomination clips, with it being unclear whether it was a technical issue or a deliberate sound cut due to swearing or pre-watershed content.
Taking to Twitter, viewers were left even more confused that the sound cuts appeared to take place when moments of Channel 4’s It’s A Sin was being broadcast. One person tweeted: "Is there a reason the sound keeps cutting out on the It’s A Sin clips or is it just me? #BAFTAS." A different account put: "Why does the sound keep cutting out on the it’s a sin clips ? #BAFTAS." Another person wrote: "Anyone else’s sound keeping dropping off whenever they show a clip from It’s A Sin? #BAFTAS #Baftas2022." While a different viewer added: "Why has the sound cut out on the two clips from #ItsASin that have been shown on the #BAFTAS ?" OK! has contacted BAFTA and BBC for comment. Leading the nominations on Sunday night was Russell T Davies' powerful Channel 4 drama It's A Sin with 11 nods, including writer drama category, leading actor — Olly Alexander for his role as Ritchie Tozer and leading actress — Lydia West for her role as Jill Baxter.
However, despite the large number of nominations, the series failed to win an award. Become an OK! VIP and see all our exclusives - for free! Become an OK!
