Speaking to reporters ahead of accepting her award, the actress had admitted she was "very nervous" about the possibility of taking to the stage to receive a BAFTA. In her acceptance speech, Jodie paid tribute to Channel 4 for "believing in the script from the very beginning" before going onto thank the carers who helped those involved in the show with their research, saying they were "incredibly gracious" with their time.
