Awkwafina’s semi-autobiographical comedy “Awkwafina is Nora From Queens” has been renewed for a second season ahead of its series debut, Comedy Central announced Tuesday.
The series, which is inspired by Awkwafina’s real-life growing up in Queens. N.Y., centers on her character, Nora Lin, who lives at home with her dad (BD Wong) and grandmother (Lori Tan Chinn). Bowen Yang also stars as her cousin.

Awkwafina’s incredible run of success continues, as the numbers for the debut of her new Comedy Central show make for more than pleasant reading.
Ahead of its Jan. 27 world premiere at Sundance, nine posters have been released for the surreal drama Nine Days.The film, which marks the feature film directorial debut of Edson Oda, stars Winston Duke as a man who is interviewing souls who are vying for the opportunity to be born.
The story follows Nora (Awkwafina's real name is Nora Lum, BTW) as she goes about her day-to-day life in New York City, trying to figure out adulthood as an unemployed 27-year-old living in a house in Queens with her grandmother and father. And, yes, the show is loosely based on Awkwafina's pre-Hollywood stardom life.

Apple is all in on its new comedy series from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day. The streaming service has renewed the duo's new show, Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet, for a second season ahead of the show's Feb. 7 debut. The news was announced Sunday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

Comedy Central has snagged Awkwafina, and it is not letting her go any time soon. Sarah Babineau, co-head of original content at Comedy Central, announced Tuesday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the network's new comedy Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens has been renewed for Season 2 ahead of its debut.
“One Day at a Time” Season 4 will premiere Mar. 24, while “Flack” Season 2 will premiere Mar. 13, Pop TV announced Monday.
