Awkwafina’s incredible run of success continues, as the numbers for the debut of her new Comedy Central show make for more than pleasant reading.
Episode 1 of “Awkwafina is Nora from Queens” has amassed 818,000 total viewers after three days of delayed viewing, which represents a healthy 67% boost from the Live+Same Day tally of 489,000. That numbers also stand as Comedy Central’s strongest L+3 launch in more than three years, per the network. In terms of rating, the premiere scored a 0.56

James Corden is taking the carpool lane to Comedy Central. In the latest example of newly found synergy inside the recently merged ViacomCBS universe, Comedy Central will start airing repeats of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” starting on Monday, Jan. 27.

And, yes, the show is loosely based on Awkwafina's pre-Hollywood stardom life.

Comedy Central has snagged Awkwafina, and it is not letting her go any time soon. Sarah Babineau, co-head of original content at Comedy Central, announced Tuesday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the network's new comedy Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens has been renewed for Season 2 ahead of its debut.
