Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer A multiplayer fighting video game based on Nickelodeon‘s beloved animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” soon to be a live-action Netflix show, is in the works. The game is set at Maximum Entertainment in a new pact with Paramount Game Studio.
Maximum revealed the new title during its presentation of its 2024 lineup and promotion of the unification of its publishing labels, Maximum Games, Modus Games, Just For Games and Merge Games, as well as development division Modus Studios, under the Maximum Entertainment banner. Other announcements made by Maximum during its event include: Maximum says under its new reorg that the company is now “centralized for full integration” and “seeks to increase IP ownership to 30 percent of revenue by 2025.” The company currently has 100 games in the works planned across PC and consoles, including 15 based on its own IP.
Aside from its new partnership with Paramount Global for the “Airbender” video game, Maximum says it’s focused on in-house development of “competitive fighting games, live service and action/adventure titles.” “We are extremely happy to share some big news today, including exciting new partnerships, as we step into the phase of true global integration,” Maximum Entertainment CEO Christina Seelye said. “As one company with a single, shared portfolio, we are laser focused on the future and the opportunities it presents.” Watch Maximum Entertainment’s 2024 roadmap presentation in the video below.

Per its official description, this new edition of “Fixer Upper” follows Chip and Joanna as they take on a unique mid-century modern lakehouse flip near Lake Waco, a new neighborhood for the home renovation duo based in Waco, Texas.

Per Netflix’s description, “Hades” is “a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you defy the god of the dead as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld of Greek myth.” Pre-registration to play the streamer’s exclusive version of the game, which launches on iOS devices March 19, opens Tuesday at 9 a.m. PT.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer A new video game based on Paramount’s “Paranormal Activity” horror franchise is slated to release in 2026 from DreadXP, the publisher of hit horror video game “The Mortuary Assistant.” Per DreadXP and Paramount Global, the “Paranormal Activity” video game “will bring the franchise’s groundbreaking found-footage style to horror enthusiasts in surprising new ways, immersing them in a story that expands upon the lore and world of the films.” The title, which will be available across multiple platforms, will include an advanced version of the “Haunt System” that will “dynamically alter the types and intensity of scares players will encounter based on their actions.” DreadXP co-director and creative director Brian Clarke (DarkStone Digital), the main developer on “The Mortuary Assistant,” is leading the development of the “Paranormal Activity” video game. Beginning with the first “Paranormal Activity” film in 2007, the seven-film franchise from Blumhouse and Solana Films is credited with reimagining the “found footage” horror genre.
