Ant and Dec have given an 'official' update on their hit ITV show Saturday Night Takeaway. It comes after the duo made a major announcement about the future of the programme earlier this year.
In May, the pair said they would be taking a break from the show after its next series airs in 2024. "We love making Saturday Night Takeaway, but reaching the milestone of 20 series seemed like the perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath," Ant McPartlin said.
Declan Donnellyadded: "We still have a momentous 20th series to look forward to first so we will do our best to go out (for now) with a bang in 2024."

Now an update has been posted on Ant and Dec's Instagram profile, showing them sitting at a large table surrounded by production team members with the Saturday Night Takeaway logo displayed on a large screen behind. The message 'series 20' is visible on the screen too.
They captioned the post by saying: "Series 20 is officially in the making."
The update was met with glee from fans. One follower, @lucydoublea, said "can't wait" while @barboo66 said: "Can't wait. It's rubbish weather and your show brings sunlight and laughter."
Another follower, @heidijadesargant, said: "Wahoooo I can’t wait I’m so excited for it!"
And @oliviaella_x wrote: "Literally the best show on TV!"
Saturday Night Takeaway first aired in 2002. The show last took a break in 2009 which lasted for four years.
