An Annan restaurant has scooped an honour at the Scottish Bar and Pub Awards.
Formerly known as the DRAM Awards, more than 600 industry peers saw the Mediaworld Casual Dining Award presented to Annan’s Our Place at a glittering 80s film-themed ceremony in the Doubletree Hilton, Glasgow.
The event saw 30 awards presented to both venues and individuals from all around Scotland with Our Place proprietor Stephen Montgomery joined by staff in receiving the prize.
He said: “We are over the moon to have brought this award home and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us and got us this far, and to those secret diners who visited us to judge…you should be in MI5.
“Thank you to our wonderful team who, day in, day out provide excellent service, incredible food and go above and beyond for our customers.
“Congratulations to all the finalists and winners. It was fantastic to celebrate with all the best people Scottish hospitality has to offer.
“A huge thank you again to everyone who made this possible.”
Now in their 28th year, the awards are a highlight in the hospitality industry calendar and this year over 100 finalists attended the ceremony at the Double Tree Hilton, Glasgow Central – making it the biggest event yet.
Organiser Susan Young said: “The Scottish licensed trade is full of successful entrepreneurs and as a result we have some of the best pubs and venues in the UK. These awards recognise and celebrate the efforts of the owners and their employees that give Scotland a hospitality industry that is worth shouting about. I take my hat off to all of them.”
