This is the moment an angry mob gathered in a Scots street in a heated stand off with riot police. The crowd could be heard shouting "beast out" as they stood in numbers outside a property on Ballindean Road in Dundee at around 5.30pm on Friday, September 2.
Cops arrived at the street as the group began to gather to protest, understood to be about an alleged paedophile living in a property in the area. The person was eventually removed by cops as the atmosphere turned toxic with missiles being thrown at officers.
In dramatic footage the mob can be heard shouting "peadophile" and "beast out" as officers holding riot shields form a line outside the property. As things get heated cops can heard shouting "get back" as the group try to push their way past the officers.
A glass is then smashed as the group continue to jeer, as one shouts "this is called a rebellion". Eventually, as the van begins to move, the group begin to attack the vehicle as a road sign can be seen being thrown in the direction of the officers.
As it drives down the road the group chase and punch the vehicle while shouting "stop them", as more glass can be heard being smashed in the background. A loud bang can then be heard, as someone shouts "they just f***ing crashed the car", before the police vehicle eventually drives away down the street.
Following the incident, police have slammed those who became hostile in the group and said they will be working to identify those responsible before taking action. In a second incident in Dundee on Friday night, another crowd gathered outside a property on Craigmore Street at around 8.30pm.
Officers attended and the group were dispersed, but a car was damaged and a window was smashed and cops are working to identify
