Angelica Ross Says Ryan Murphy Ghosted Her After Accepting Her Pitch for an 'American Horror Story' Season Starring Black Women

Angelica Ross says that Ryan Murphy accepted her pitch of doing a season of American Horror Story starring four black women, but then ghosted her and never responded to follow-ups about the project.
The 42-year-old actress rose to fame while playing Candy Ferocity in Ryan‘s FX series Pose and she later appeared in two seasons of American Horror Story.
Angelica has shared a screenshot of an email she says Ryan sent to her in July 2020, in which he accepted the pitch she gave him.

“Remember your idea about a HORROR season starring Black women? Well I’m doing it. Not sure of the story yet, but we will start a writers room in the fall,” Ryan wrote in the email.
He added, “Along with you, who are the four women I should get? I think you, Keke Palmer, Gabby [Sidibe] … not sure of the fourth?”
Angelica shared her excited response to the email, in which she pitched women like Debbi Morgan, Lynn Whitfield, Alfre Woodard, Adina Porter, and Angela Bassett to appear in the series.
In a TikTok video, Angelica shared the screenshot and said she was “left on read.”
In February 2022, Angelica followed up and said in an email to Ryan, “Good morning, up cleaning and organizing and thinking about what season 11′s focus could be and then just thought maybe just ask you that when that formulates if I could be on the producing side as well. I think I could add a lot to the table in the overall storyline if we are still looking to do a Black lead cast.”
