Primo is not moving forward on Amazon’s Freevee.
Creator Shea Serrano confirmed the news on Tuesday (May 21) on social media, saying the series will not be returning for a second season at the streamer.
“A short but beautiful run — sadly we’re not gonna be making any more episodes of PRIMO — i will always be indebted to everyone who worked on the show to make it so great and i will always be thankful to everyone who watched and championed it — thank you for real — long live PRIMO,” he wrote.

Amazon picked up Primo to series in October 2021 after producing a pilot for the series that was previously developed for ABC. The TV platform launched the semi-autobiographical series based on Serrano’s life in May 2023. It got a 100% rating among critics and a 97% score from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to THR, Freevee had been in conversations with producers Universal Television to renew the series for a second season and extended the options on its cast twice, but “budget cuts across the landscape and a desire for broader-skewing programming ultimately led to the cancellation for the little-watched comedy.”
The series revolved around Rafa, a 16-year-old high schooler in San Antonio and his family. Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Johnny Rey Diaz, Christina Vidal, Henri Esteve, Martin Martinez, Jonathan Medina, Carlos Santos, Nigel Siwabessy, Efrain Villa and Stakiah Lynn Washington starred in the series.

Amazon Prime Video has removed a film from its library after receiving one Ofcom complaint.Filipino film Pamasahe, which was released in 2022, was found to be in breach of the regulator’s code, with the removal coming after the recent passing of the Media Bill in the UK’s House of Lords. The new law means streamers must be regulated the same as traditional broadcasters in Britain in areas such as harmful content.According to Deadline, one person complained to Ofcom after initially writing to Amazon about a scene in Pamasahe that “concerned about the inclusion of a baby in scenes depicting sexual activity between adults”.After reportedly receiving no response – and then an unsatisfactory response from the streamer – they contacted the regulator, who in turn then contacted the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).They advised that “the sequence…contains a frame that would contravene the Protection of Children Act 1978….on the basis that it shows a child in the same frame as sexual activity”. After the BBFC contacted Amazon, the film was removed. The streamer said in response that it believed that it had “robust, complete and effective” checking measures in place, evidenced by “over a decade of content distribution under the supervision of Ofcom without any prior formal investigations from Ofcom.”They added: “These sorts of content policies are nuanced and we regularly evaluate where we can make improvements.”Pamasahe follows the story of “a penniless mother, with her infant child” who “takes on a journey by land and sea to find her husband in Manila”.

announced Saturday, just before the show was slated to start.“We thank you for your understanding and will keep you informed of the new date very soon. Show tickets will be valid for the new date and, for those who want, they will be eligible for reimbursement at point of purchase.”On Sunday, however, “further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days,” according to a statement Springsteen, 74, shared on social media. Also postponed were Tuesday’s show at the Airport Letnany in Prague and two shows at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on June 1 and June 3.“Bruce is recuperating comfortably, and he and the E Street Band look forward to resuming their hugely successful European stadium tour on June 12 in Madrid at the magnificent Civitas Metropolitan,” the statement added.Springsteen’s vocal issues come just two months after the “Glory Days” singer resumed the US leg of the tour after canceling all dates in September, when he revealed he was diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease. The rocker — who is known for performing marathon shows that run up to three hours — worried that the disease would affect his voice.“When I had the stomach problem, one of the big problems was I couldn’t sing,” Springsteen said in March on SiriusXM’s “E Street Radio With Jim Rotolo.”“Before people told me, ‘Oh no, it’s gonna go away, and you’re gonna be OK.’ [But] you’re thinking like, ‘Hey, am I gonna sing again?’” the “Born to Run” singer admitted.
