The biggest question about Mamma Mia was finding out who Sophie’s dad was. However, it was never answered in either of the two movies.
If you recall, the first movie ended with Amanda Seyfried‘s Sophie declaring that she didn’t care who of the three men she secretly invited to her wedding (which she later called off) was her real father.
While the movies didn’t answer the question, Amanda did share her thoughts on which guy she was really rooting for it to be.

In Mamma Mia, Sophie secretly invites Sam, Bill and Harry (played by Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, and Colin Firth) to her upcoming wedding without her mother, Donna (played by Meryl Streep) to her wedding.
While her goal is to find out which of them could be her biological father, the question is never answered and Sophie doesn’t seem to mind.
In a new interview, however, Amanda had secret hopes for Stellan‘s Bill to be named as her dad and it’s all because of the “Voulez-Vous” scene.
“It’s one of the purest moments in the movie because there’s a lot of pride in Stellan, but also a lot of shock and fear,” she told Vanity Fair. “Just full acceptance in a small amount of time. It’s a full circle moment. It’s beautiful.”
She added, “Comedically he’s also very skilled, and because of this moment I always secretly hoped it was Stellan that was really her father. I’m sorry, Bill.”
“He was the person who seemed the least likely to want to have kids,” Amanda went on. “From realization to acceptance, there is a scene that was cut of a song called ‘Name of the Game,’ and we sing it together, and I’m begging him, ‘What’s the name of the game?’ We had a lot of fun. We got really tight.”
