Amanda Holden broke a major rule when filming live auditions of Britain's Got Talent leaving the ITV show in chaos. The talent show judge was so enthralled by a comedy act at the Manchester auditions that she forgot she had already pressed the famous golden buzzer, the Mirror reports.
The mother of two, 52, fast tracked them straight through to the semi-finals by pressing her golden buzzer despite pressing it for a musical theatre singer at a previous audition - a big no-no in the show's rules. Lucky for Amanda, Simon Cowell and TV bosses were fairly relaxed over the mishap.
Amanda's chosen act is a Japanese man who uses his hair to create impressions. According to The Sun, a TV insider said: "Bruno was almost moved to tears watching his golden buzzer dance act - and was first to slam down on the button so hard that it cracked.
"He was shortly followed by Simon, who sent a Japanese dance act through to the live shows. And finally, Amanda was impressed by a female theatre singer that she was keen to give a shot in the live rounds and was last to press the buzzer."
Addressing the live crowd, Simon said: "I'm very excited, we don't know who is going to come on and we'll meet people together. This year there's just one rule: be as naughty as you want."
It comes after Bruno Tonioli had also made the same mistake during his debut on the show.
He unable to contain his excitement, he slammed the buzzer so hard it broke. In an interview with the Mailonline, he said at the time: "Well, that was pretty quick! It was the second or third day. I was laughing my head off thinking, 'You definitely haven't watched the show, have you?'.
