The popular, long-running series premiered on CBS in September 2013 and will air its final episode on May 6.The critically-acclaimed show’s ending comes just one season after star Anna Faris’ departure, who left the series to pursue other opportunities.

according to Variety.The move comes after Anna Faris, who plays Bonnie’s daughter Christy, shockingly left the series right before production began on Season 8 in September.“For the past eight years, we’ve had the great honor to bring these wonderful characters to life, sharing their struggles and triumphs with millions of viewers every week,” said executive producers Lorre, Gemma Baker and Nick Bakay in a statement.

For Allison Janney, filming "Mom" is a much different experience without her co-star, Anna Faris. The two starred in seven seasons of the hit sitcom before Faris, 44, abruptly exited the series, leaving Janney to lead the series on her own.
