Aldi is set to donate thousands of baby essentials to new parents on low incomes who are struggling with rising costs amidst the soaring cost of living crisis.
The popular discounted supermarket chain has said that they are going to be donating 80,000 baby products, including nappies and baby wipes, to charities and foodbanks across the country. All of the items donated will be from the supermarket's beloved Mamia baby brand, which has been approved by parents who need to pick up good quality baby products at affordable prices.
The supermarket's award-winning in house baby range was awarded the prestigious Supermarket of the Year, Best Family Brand and the Best Online Retailer of the Year awards at the prestigious Loved By Parents Awards in 2021.
News of the supermarket's generous donations will come as welcome news to families across the country who have been hit with soaring costs on food, petrol and energy bills, due to the ongoing rising cost of living.
Aldi conducted a study in partnership with YouGov and found that more than three quarters (77%) of new parents across the UK are worried about the cost of essential products for their newborn.
More than half (55%) of new parents have struggled to afford essential products for their babies, with 3 in 10 (29%) cutting back or going without food themselves to afford essentials for their newborn.

Taylor Swift is set to begin at the University of Texas (UTA) in Austin.The new course, which begins this autumn and is titled The Taylor Swift Songbook, will see her read alongside the likes of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Keats and Sylvia Plath.Preliminary texts for the course include her 2020 lockdown albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’, 2019’s ‘Lover’ and the new ‘Taylor’s Version’ reissue of ‘Red’.According to a description on the UTA website, the course will use “the songwriting of pop music icon Taylor Swift to introduce literary critical reading and research methods-basic skills for work in English literature and other humanities disciplines.It adds: “Focusing on Swift’s music and the cultural contexts in which it and her career are situated, we’ll consider frameworks for understanding her work, such as poetic form, style, and history among various matters and theoretical issues important to contextualisation as we practice close and in-depth reading, evaluating secondary sources, and building strong arguments.”Earlier this year, New York University’s Clive Davis Institute launched a new course on Swift. The course began at the Davis Institute, which is part of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, on January 26 ran through to March 9.In May, Swift then delivered a commencement address for New York University’s class of 2022.

De Lane Lea today announced it will be moving across Soho from its current home on Dean Street to Ilona Rose House, a new site developed by Soho Estates’ on Greek Street. Located over three floors of the building and spanning over 32,000 sq. ft, Ilona Rose House will house the UK’s largest mixing stage. The site will also feature a 4K DCI laser projection with Dolby Atmos and IMAX monitoring, 45 networked and acoustically treated cutting rooms with a programmable advanced lighting system, and three further mixing stages with 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos and laser projection. In a statement, Kim Waugh, EVP Worldwide Post Production Creative Services, Warner Bros. said the new facility will help “bring another level of service to the post-production world in London.” Warner Bros. De Lane Lea, which has post-production credits on films such as Gravity (2013), and the Harry Potter film series (2001-2011), will officially open the doors to Ilona Rose House in September.
