Adam Shankman to Direct ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ at Disney Plus (EXCLUSIVE)

A sequel to the beloved Halloween family-friendly film Hocus Pocus has finally been confirmed.

Despite fears that coronavirus could impact moviegoing across the globe, Disney’s “Mulan” is expected to pull off solid opening weekend ticket sales at the domestic box office.

Adam Shankman has added another Disney sequel to his slate after signing on to direct the Hocus Pocus follow-up.

Adam Shankman, the director behind the likes of What Men Want and Rock of Ages is set to direct Hocus Pocus 2 over at Disney. The news comes from Variety who says that sources have told them that the filmmaker has signed for the sequel, which will land on the Mouse House’s streaming service Disney+.

“Hocus Pocus” is officially conjuring up a sequel.

Update 3/4/20: Get your black-flame candles ready to light because Disney+'s Hocus Pocus sequel is ready to bring this story back to life. Director Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Rock of Ages, and the upcoming Enchanted sequel) has been tapped to direct Hocus Pocus 2 for the streaming service, TV Guide has learned.
