‘Accused’ & ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ Boost Fox To Year Of Ratings Wins In 7-Day Viewing Window

EXCLUSIVE: Fox is boasting a year of solid ratings, led by the launches of several series from Accused and Animal Control to unscripted fare like Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
In the last calendar year (from September 19, 2022 to September 24, 2023), the network has averaged a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 entertainment demographic in the live+seven-day window. That’s about 14% higher than NBC, which takes the No. 2 spot.
In fact, Fox has held onto 100% of its demo ratings from the prior season across several adult demographics — the only broadcaster to do so. Those demos include Adults 18-34 (0.5 L7), Adults 25-54 (1.1 L7), Women 18-49 (0.7 L7, t-NBC), Women 18-34 (0.5 L7), Women 25-54 (1.0 L7, t-NBC), Men 18-49 (0.9 L7), Men 18-34 (0.6 L7), Men 25-54 (1.2 L7) and People 12-34 (0.5 L7).
In terms of total minutes watched, Fox is up 8% versus a year ago, tallying 119.4B minutes compared to last year’s 110.5B minutes.
While it’s not a perfect unit of measurement, reporting viewership in total minutes has become more popular recently among the broadcast networks because it does allow for a comparison between the broadcasters and streaming services, since this is the metric in which Nielsen measures streaming viewership. The streamers have notoriously kept audience data close to the chest because they are able to report viewership numbers at their own discretion, meaning that Nielsen data is often the only meaningful data available on streaming performance.
