A giant pillow fight and a ball pit will be just two of the experiences on offer at the immersive multi-sensory event coming to Manchester this September. 'Dopamine Land', which came to London last summer, will be swapping its South Kensington address for the Arndale Centre from September 14.
Organised by Fever, the company behind the immersive Van Gogh, Klimt and Monet experiences and the Candlelight Concerts, the venue promises a “world of happiness” and an “escape from the outside world”. The organisers claim that each room uses a mixture of sensory experiences geared towards heightening levels of dopamine, the chemical responsible for feelings of happiness.
Commenting on the launch, organisers said: “Fever’s new immersive experience transports guests into a different imaginary realm, full of optical illusions, sound effects and themed rooms for the ultimate sensory overload.”

Visitors will discover and interact with nine different rooms, each with distinct themes that aim to increase their dopamine levels. Manchester’s themed rooms will include an ‘Infinity Room’, a ‘Calm Forest Room’’, a ‘Pillow Fight Room’ and many more, designed to encourage visitors to connect with their emotions and channel the limitless imagination of their childhood.
The experience starts with a ‘Reset Room’ to decompress and forget about the stimuli in the world beyond. There will also be a room called the ‘Infinity Room’, a “limitless space” of reflected colours and light that ensures an infinitely instagrammable spectacle, a musical squares maze and a digital forest that is supposed to induce a state of meditative calm.
