Shrek fans can rent out a recreation of the character’s swamp in the Scottish Highlands.The listing appeared on Airbnb on Tuesday (September 26), with guests able to stay within the swamp for a two-night stay for free from Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29.According to the listing, hosted by Eddie Murphy’s character Donkey from the film series, the swamp is a “mud-laden, moss-covered, murky-watered oasis” where guests can “relax in the ambiance of ‘earwax candlelight’”.“I have to be honest – I love everything about the swamp: the boulder out front, the modest interiors, the seclusion (ideal for singing karaoke late into the night), you get the picture,” Donkey writes. “I can’t wait for guests to experience this muddy slice of paradise for themselves.”To coincide with the swamp’s launch, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to HopScotch Children’s Charity, who provide Scotland’s most vulnerable children with respite through holiday breaks.As noted on the listing, the two-night stay is “not a contest” and guests are responsible “for their own travel to and from Scotland”.

A stunning tower in North Wales is giving people the chance to live out their Disney princess dreams. Brynkir Tower is nestled inside Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park in Llanfihangel-y-pennant, just over a two-hour drive from Greater Manchester, and it’s the sort of place you could imagine Rapunzel unravelling her long hair.
Built in 1821 to commemorate the knighthood of King George IV, the folly fell into a state of repair but has since been renovated and is now run as a holiday let. It may only be a little over 200 years old, but from the outside the tower looks like an ancient structure, standing at 20m tall among the trees.
Inside there are five floors with a steep spiral staircase connecting them all. There’s one room per floor and each one features ornate arched windows offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and woodland.

Brynkir Tower sleeps up to four guests and the bedrooms’ decor ensures you’ll wake up feeling like you’re in a fairytale. There’s a double bedroom painted in a fairytale powder pink with a beautiful brass bed, while a second bedroom features twin beds.
The living room is situated on the top floor, offering the best views from the tower. With a comfy sofa and a wood burning stove, you can cosy-up on chilly autumnal evenings and watch the sunset from this vantage point.
There isn’t any wifi in the tower and phone signal is patchy, so it also doubles up as an off-grid retreat. The living room does have a TV and DVD player though so you can enjoy some old-school entertainment.
