'Yes immediately' - Bolton Wanderers signing Eoin Toal lifts lid on transfer from Derry City

Eoin Toal put transfer talk to the back of his mind while his move to Bolton Wanderers was in the offing but he accepted the offer immediately when it was put to him.
The 23-year-old joined Wanderers this summer from League of Ireland side Derry City. He joined Wanderers for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
Wanderers had a first bid for the defender turned down before a second approach was accepted by the Candystripes. It led to Derry skipper Toal making the move to the Whites.

Toal continued to play for Derry during Bolton's approaches for him. It was something he tried to put to the back of his mind and was focused upon European football exploits for Derry.
But when the call came from Wanderers, it was an offer Toal did not need to think about. He is also glad he left Derry on good terms but believes it was the right time to take the next step in his career.
He said: “I was told that Bolton were interested in signing me and I said yes immediately. I didn’t think much about it.
"Coming to England was something I had always wanted to do and my old club knew that. Once Bolton were involved it was just a case of saying to them that I wanted to go.
“It was the right time for me and I think everyone over there agreed, that’s why they didn’t stand in my way.
“I probably felt done where I was, if that makes sense. I needed to go if I was going to kick on in my career and it was too hard to say no to a club like this.
“I left there, I’d done everything, and I have a lot of respect for the people there. The way it ended was fine, no bad blood or anything. They wished me luck and it was basically plain sailing.
