Gilla Band, who were previously called Girl Band, have today (July 14) unveiled details of a new album.‘Most Normal’ will arrive on October 8 via Rough Trade and the band have also today shared the first single from this, ‘Eight Fivers’.The video for the song, which you can watch below, was animated and directed by Mortis Studios with Ruben Hernandez.Speaking about the new song, singer Data Keily said in a statement: “‘Eight Fivers’ is about being out of touch with modern circumstances while feeling socially limited.“Never fitting in and kind of proud of it. The Mars Volta have detailed another new single, ‘Graveyard Love’, as well as an extension of their US tour.The announcement follows the release of their first new music in ten years with ‘Blacklight Shine’, shared last month (June 21).The Texas-formed band released six studio albums between 2003 and 2012 before splitting due to a falling-out between founding members Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López.The pair quickly made amends, however, and formed a new group, Antemasque. They also revamped their pre-Mars Volta outfit, At-the-Drive-In, for a new record in 2017.“They will seek your ruin, and burn your lands, because if they can’t have you, no one can,” Cedric Bixler-Zavala offered as a cryptic description of ‘Graveyard Love’, which will be released on Friday (July 8) alongside a new short film.The Mars Volta previewed ‘Blacklight Shine’ by setting up a mysterious box installation in Los Angeles’ Grand Park, which plays new material from the band when you walk inside.Last month, an audio-visual art installation was also erected in Los Angeles’ Grand Park, titled ‘L’YTOME HODORXÍ TELESTERION’, where they previewed ‘Blacklight Shine’.

Ozzy Osbourne has announced his new album ‘Patient Number 9’ with the release of its title track ahead of the record’s release this September.The album’s title track also features guitar work from Jeff Beck, who joins an A-list cast of musicians guest-starring on the track including Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Zakk Wylde, and producer Andrew Watt.A music video has also been released alongside the single that sees Ozzy portraying the titular patient, hunched over in what appears to be a room in a mental asylum before he falls into a comic-book-esque world of madness. Secret Machines have announced a new EP titled ‘Day 21’ alongside a reissue of their 2008 EP ‘Dreaming Of Dreaming’ featuring a track with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds‘ Jim Sclavunos.The duo of Brandon Curtis and Josh Garza have announced that both EPs will be released on July 15. They’ve also released the title track from the ‘Day 21’ EP and ‘Dreaming of Dreaming (Mavrogeorgis and Sclavunos Version)’ from the reissue.Per Stereogum, Curtis said in a statement that ‘Day 21’ was “a bit of a departure” for the band.

Starcrawler have announced details of a new album called ‘She Said’ along with the release of a video for its title track – watch it below.The band’s first album for a major label will come out on September 16 via Big Machine, and follows the release of new single ‘Roadkill’ last month.The LA-based five-piece – comprising frontwoman Arrow De Wilde, guitarists Henri Cash and Bill Cash, drummer Seth Carolina and bassist Tim Franco – released their self-titled debut album in 2018, following it up the next year with ‘Devour You’.Speaking about the new song in a statement, De Wilde said: “’She Said’ was one of the first songs written for this album. Amyl & The Sniffers have announced a new run of North American tour dates, marking their second tour of the continent this year.The new dates will see the Australian band return to the United States in September and October. The tour will begin with an appearance at the first-ever Los Angeles edition of the  Primavera Sound festival, before taking the band on a run of 14 headlining shows across the country.It follows on from the band’s previous tour in April and May of 2022.
