Salford gran Laynie Nesbitt had been a yo-yo dieter for years, and had seen her weight continue to rise up to 19 stone. But in June 2020, a chance conversation would spark a life-changing journey that has seen Laynie lose seven-and-a-half stone in under a year.
Laynie, 58, has kept the weight off for the past two years, and now feels confident she has made lasting changes for a healthy lifestyle. Her transformation has been so inspiring that her husband and friends have all been inspired to follow her lead and are losing weight too.
Mum-of-five and gran-of-four Laynie admits she could hardly even walk without getting out of breath before her weight loss, and was borderline diabetic with high blood pressure. Now, after losing the weight she loves to hike up mountains and her bloods are at a healthy level.

Her weight loss journey all started when she was feeling at her most desperate to lose weight. Laynie, from Walkden, had undergone a mastectomy after breast cancer treatment in 2016, but was heartbroken to be told by doctors in 2017 that she would not qualify for breast reconstruction surgery until she lost weight.
They told her she needed to be at a Body Mass Index (BMI) of under 30 for her height of 5' 7" before they would operate. She had tried the Slimming World plan on and off for years in a bid to lose weight, but would end up in a cycle of losing a couple of stone, then put it all straight back on again.
By June 2020 she was 19 stone with a BMI of 45 which is classed as clinically obese. It was then that she had a chance conversation with a fellow mum she knew, Kelly Caffery from Swinton, who had just started an online diet and fitness coaching
