A woman thought she had got in the way of ‘filming for Top Gear’ shortly before a collision which killed a biker, a trial has heard.
Prosecutors allege that four men, two in cars and two on motorbikes, were ‘racing’ on the A34 near Handforth Dean retail park. It was said that they ‘failed’ to be able to navigate a large roundabout, resulting in a collision.
It was this collision that led to the death of Asad Rashid, 34, who was driving a Suzuki motorbike, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

Osama Saeed, 32, and Asgar Taj, 34, are both on trial accused of causing death by dangerous driving. The fourth man, Mohammed Zubair Chaudhry, 31, has previously pleaded guilty to the same offence.
Opening the case for the prosecution, Stephen McNally said that on Tuesday, September 15 2020, at around 10pm, the four men were seen at a set of traffic lights on dashcam footage.
Mr Saeed was driving a grey Audi RS3, Mr Taj was driving a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle, Mr Rashid was driving a black Suzuki motorbike and Chaudhry was driving a blue Audi R8, the court heard.
An eyewitness, a delivery driver, approached a set of traffic lights, and could see the four vehicles were at the traffic lights and were ‘spaced out’, Mr McNally said. “The two motorcycles were on the left and the Audi RS3 was on the outside lane,” he told the court.
“The delivery driver could hear the revving engines. As the lights changed from red to red amber, the four vehicles pulled away immediately from the lights at speed. All four had moved off from the lights before they had even turned to green.”
