A woman is due to appear in the crown court later this month charged with the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man at a railway station.
Andrea Reid, 53, of Clough Avenue, Wilmslow, has been charged with a single count of attempted murder, British Transport Police has confirmed. It follows an alleged incident at Handforth railway station on July 26.
Officers were called to the scene on Station Road at around 7pm following a concern for the welfare of two people, BTP said in a statement. She appeared at Warrington magistrates' court on July 28 and was remanded in custody.
The police force confirmed Reid was now due to appear before a judge at Chester Crown Court on August 25. The man hasn't been named. He did not suffer any injuries, said BTP.
In a statement, British Transport Police said: "A 53-year-old woman appeared at court on July 28 charged in connection to the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man at Handforth station on 26 July.
"Andrea Reid, of Clough Avenue, Wilmslow, appeared at Warrington Magistrates' Court charged with attempted murder. She has been remanded in custody until her next appearance."
Reid is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on August 25, added a BTP spokesman. BTP described an 'isolated incident' and said officers have been conducting various enquiries around the local area ever since. Witnesses are being urged to make contact if they have any information.

Officers have been conducting a number of enquiries in the local area and we'd like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it in the area to get in touch with us to assist
