A major police investigation is underway after a woman was stabbed.
Police are currently searching an area of Tyldesley in Wigan for a woman said to have 'fled the scene' before emergency services arrived.
The victim, a 39-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment, police confirmed.
There's been no comment from Greater Manchester Police as to her condition.
Police were called to Elliott Street in Tyldesley at 4.10pm on Wednesday.
It followed reports that a woman had been stabbed.
