With the 2023 edition of Wimbledon now well underway, tennis fans around the world have been treated to another series of closely-fought matches as the best and brightest players from across the sport duke it out to try and secure the coveted trophy. Among this year’s talented line up, is British star Liam Broady, who delighted fans on Thursday, 6 July, when he played one of the greatest matches of his career as he beat fourth seed Casper Rudd in five sets - a victory which secured his progression to the next stage of the competition.The 29 year old tennis ace, has since become one of the must-see players at this year’s tournament, with many fans taking to the internet to try and find out more about him.

Early life Born on 4 January 1994, Liam Tarquin Broady is just one of four children to parents Shirley and Simon, who helped to foster his interest and aptitude for tennis at a young age. Raised in Stockport, Liam, alongside his older sister Naomi, was first exposed to the thrill of the sport when he began playing table tennis at the age of four, and went to Matchpoint in Bramhall for lessons.
Four short years later, he took part in his first tournament at the age of eight and was thought to be showing exceptional promise as a future player at the tender age of 10.
