Prince William's alleged reaction to Harry's panic attack has left his brother feeling 'heartbroken'. Both Prince Harry and Prince William have long championed mental health awareness as part of their royal duties but, in his memoir Spare, which was released last year, Harry shared an incident where he felt William didn't take his struggles with panic attacks and anxiety seriously. After seeing Harry suffer a panic attack, William's response was reportedly so harsh that it left him feeling devastated, as reported by the Mirror.
Harry wrote about a time in 2015 when public speaking became a real challenge due to high anxiety levels. As a working royal, public speaking was a necessary part of his role and something he had become accustomed to over the years. However, he found himself unable to perform this particular duty due to crippling panic attacks.
He described how "hours before a speech or public appearance I'd be soaked in sweat" from the moment he buttoned up his suit for the event. Once there, he would "be unable to think, my mind buzzing with fear". Harry had a time when he tried to avoid public speaking as much as possible.
However, there was an instance where he couldn't escape it and had to face his fear. He managed to give the speech but felt like fainting throughout. Afterward, he was drenched in sweat and he claimed that William then teased him about his sweaty state, which Harry found insensitive.
William reportedly approached him and laughed at him for being so sweaty. "'Harold! Look at you! You're drenched!' I couldn't fathom his reaction. Him of all people.
He'd been present for my very first panic attack. With Kate... And now he was teasing me? I couldn't imagine how he could be so insensitive," Harry
