Sadly for The Crown fans, season six part two will be the show's last ever instalment. But there could be more on the way, as showrunner Peter Morgan has previously hinted.
Peter surprised viewers by confirming a sixth season would be on the way, after initially confirming The Crown would only run for five series. In 2020, he told Hollywood Reporter: "At the outset I had imagined The Crown running for six seasons but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop."
Confirming the show would return for a sixth and final season, Peter told Netflix and the Hollywood Reporter: "As we started to discuss the storylines for series five, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons."
