According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the latest name being targeted to join the Reds is Go Ahead Eagles' manager Rene Hake. United are thought to be confident that the 52-year-old will be heading to the UK this summer with Ten Hag's contract almost secured.

Since 2022, Hake has been manager of Go Ahead Eagles and he has managed to establish them as a top flight club in the Netherlands. Traditionally, the club have yo-yoed between the Eredivisie and the second tier but they have solidified themselves now, finishing 9th last season.
