Manchester United's coaching team looks set to have a huge makeover before the beginning of the 2024/25 season.
In May, it appeared that Erik ten Hag would have no say in the future of the club with Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to sack the Dutchman. However, victory in the FA Cup final coupled with a lack of managerial options has led Ineos into a U-turn.
Now the United boardroom is shaping their coaching team around Ten Hag as they look to inspire better performances next season. Former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has initially been earmarked as a target to be brought in as an assistant to the United boss but he is currently weighing up taking that position with the Burnley managerial role.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the latest name being targeted to join the Reds is Go Ahead Eagles' manager Rene Hake. United are thought to be confident that the 52-year-old will be heading to the UK this summer with Ten Hag's contract almost secured.
But who is this potential addition to the United backroom team? MEN Sport has taken a closer look.
Since 2022, Hake has been manager of Go Ahead Eagles and he has managed to establish them as a top flight club in the Netherlands. Traditionally, the club have yo-yoed between the Eredivisie and the second tier but they have solidified themselves now, finishing 9th last season.
Before moving to the Eagles, Hake spent just over a year at Ten Hag's former club FC Utrecht as manager. He has also previously held the top job at FC Twente, SC Cambuur and FC Emmen.
