Pride Month is more than halfway over, but we’re still celebrating all sorts of LGBTQ+ art! That means that we’ve been playing music from some of our favorite queer hitmakers on repeat.
It seems like the ideal time to recommend a queer artist to a friend or fellow reader by letting them know which one you consider to be the best.
Nowadays, we live in an era where so many musicians are open about their sexuality. Think of Hayley Kiyoko (known to many as Lesbian Jesus) and Lil Nas X (who continues to push boundaries every time he releases a new project).
They’re slaying the game, in part thanks to the groundbreaking work of others who came before them. Take Elton John and Melissa Etheridge, for example.
That’s still barely scratching the surface of the incredible pool of talented queer musicians who have graced us with solid-gold hits over the years. The list isn’t complete without the likes of Adam Lambert, Fletcher, Troye Sivan, Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Kim Petras, Sam Smith and so many others.
There’s so many artists, and we put together a poll so you could tell us who you consider to be the ultimate LGBTQ+ musician!
Head inside to vote for your favorite queer musician…
Vote in the poll below! Voting in this poll is unlimited, so you can vote as many times as you wish for as many different choices as you want. Since there are so many talented musicians, we might have missed someone. Write them in, and if we get enough votes we’ll make sure to add them to the list!
We’ll keep this poll open through all of June and will announce the winners after it closes on June 30 at 10 am ET. That means you have just under two weeks to vote to your hearts content.
While you’re here, we also want to know who you consider to be
