ITV1's Mr Bates vs the Post Office retells the story of how hundreds of innocent subpostmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft.
The issue, which came from a defective IT system, saw more than 700 Post Office branch managers handed criminal convictions for crimes they never committed after faulty accounting software made it appear as though money was missing. A public inquiry into the scandal is ongoing.
The drama has taken viewers back to 2009 when a group of subpostmasters from across the UK decided enough was enough and formed the Justice For Subpostmaster Alliance.

This group was led by Alan Bates who owned a post office in Llandudno and is the focus of the show. Those who want some authenticity in this show will be happy to find out where the drama was filmed, Wales Online reports.
The drama was filmed in Llandudno and Craig-y-Don and sees Toby Jones play the role of Alan. Other cast members include Julie Hesmondhalgh, who plays Suzanne Sercombe (Alan's partner).
To capture the Post Office featured in the show, the St David's Hospice on Queens Road was converted. Talking to North Wales Pioneer, ITV said: "This used to be the actual Post Office of Alan Bates and St David's have kindly allowed us to recreate a Post Office in their shop."
Other filming took place in Kent, with locations including the BT building in Sevenoaks, Pilgrims Way in Westerham, and Allens Farm. Speaking about starring in the drama, Toby said: “It is shocking just how appalling this scandal is.
