When We Were Young festival announces 2023 line-up with Blink-182, Green Day and more

CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) and Janet Yang Productions announced the second year of the Julia S. Gouw Short Film Challenge for Asian American and Pacific Islander Women and Non-Binary Filmmakers. The Challenge’s sophomore year kicks off with a Nov. 1st premiere, sponsored by AMC Theatres, where the four short films by year one’s winning filmmakers will be unveiled: 

Avril Lavigne has dropped out of the final day of When We Were Young festival due to "unforeseen circumstances". The Complicated singer, who performed at the star-studded emo/punk festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, has withdrawn from the festival's third and final day on Saturday and been replaced by Death Cab for Cutie. "We are excited to share that Death Cab for Cutie and Underoath have been added to Sat's lineup," festival organisers tweeted on Tuesday night.

Taking the elder emo status literally. All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter looked a little different while performing at the When We Were Young music festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 23.

announced earlier this year with My Chemical Romance and Paramore topping the bill.After the initial date on October 22 sold out, the festival added the same line-up the following day at Las Vegas Festival Grounds, and then a third date on October 29 with mostly the same billing again.As well as the two headliners, Bring Me The Horizon, Bright Eyes, The Used and more will also play across the festival’s five stages (Black, Pink, Checker, Stripes and Neon Tent).This year’s edition kicks off this Saturday, with bands playing from 11.45am until midnight.

Today the pop-punk trio complete the comeback with new song "Edging," the classic line-up's first new material together since 2011 album Neighborhoods.

Seth Green is making a jaw-dropping allegation of on-set behavior, recounting an incident he says happened on the set of when Bill Murray was hosting.In a Thursday interview on the  show, Green was asked to reveal the rudest celebrity he's ever met. The 48-year-old actor went on to recall a disturbing incident that he claimed occurred when he was just 9 years old. «So he saw me sitting on the arm of this chair and made a big fuss about me being in his seat,» Green said. «And I was like, 'That is absurd. Green Day have come good on their teaser from earlier this week, revealing an expansive deluxe edition of their fifth album, ‘Nimrod’ – dubbed ‘Nimrod XXV’ – alongside a previously unreleased demo from its recording sessions.The drop comes exactly 25 years since the band released ‘Nimrod’ – the follow-up to 1995’s ‘Insomniac’ (for which Green Day also released a quarter-centennial edition) first hit shelves on October 14, 1997. It spawned four singles: ‘Hitchin’ A Ride’, ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’, ‘Redundant’ and ‘Nice Guys Finished Last’.The original album sported 18 tracks (tying it with 2009’s ‘21st Century Breakdown’ as Green Day’s longest), but a Japanese edition featured a bonus song called ‘Desensitized’, while an Australian version also featured the demos ‘Suffocate’, ‘Do Da Da’ and ‘You Lied’.

While your future planning probably only extends to Thanksgiving, the Sundance Film Festival is already thinking ahead to January, the 2023 edition of their festival. Today,  the nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the first two films in the lineup for the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and they are the 25th Anniversary and digital restoration screening of “SLAM” and the uncensored director’s cut and restoration of “The Doom Generation.” Directed by Marc Levin and written by Levin, Saul Williams, Sonja Sohn, and Richard Stratton, “SLAM” was first introduced to audiences at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival, where it premiered in the U.S.

HARDY, country star and songwriter for some of the biggest names in country music like Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton has announced the release of his upcoming album "the mockingbird & THE CROW" and a 2023 tour.  "the mockingbird & THE CROW" is an album that mixes up genres with both country and rock music.The new album comes after HARDY's 2020 album "A Rock."  The album will release on January 20, 2023.Three of the songs off the new album, the five-minute title track "the mockingbird & THE CROW," TRUCK BED" and "here lies country music" have already been released. HARDY announced the release of his new album "the mockingbird & THE CROW" and followed up the news with a 2023 tour announcement.  (Terry Wyatt) The album will also include "Wait In The Truck," a duet previously released featuring Lainey Wilson and HARDY's singles "Jack" and "Sold Out." "the mockingbird & THE CROW" will also include a Wallen collaboration with the song "Red."  A day after announcing the new album, HARDY kept the news coming with his 2023 tour with Jameson Rodgers and Blame My Youth.  HARDY's "the mockingbird & THE CROW" tour will kick off in February 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana and wrap up in April in Irving, Texas.  The album and tour announcement comes shortly after HARDY was in a tour bus accident that left the four on the bus with significant injuries.  The new HARDY album includes the song, "Red" featuring Morgan Wallen.

Green Day are teasing a series of 25th anniversary celebrations for their 1997 LP ‘Nimrod’.The album, which features the band’s hit single ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’, followed their 1995 record ‘Insomniac’ and preceded 2000’s ‘Warning’, was released via Reprise on October 14, 1997, making its 25th birthday this Friday.Ahead of the anniversary, Green Day have taken to Instagram to tease the occasion and hint that they will be marking it in some shape or form.In the photo, the roman numerals XXV (25) are shared on a yellow and black background, mimicking the ‘Nimrod’ album artwork.“Someone’s got a VERY big birthday on Friday…” the band wrote.

When We Were Young, which takes place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, has announced an Oct. 21, 2023 date, but considering this year’s edition added two extra dates after the first one sold out, it’s likely that next year will follow suit. Tickets are on presale starting Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. PT. When We Were Young’s website notes that those who signed up for the 2022 presale will automatically receive a 2023 presale code on Friday morning.
