In the preview clip, Lucas (Chris McNally) teases Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) about what he has planned for her upcoming birthday, and instead of making everything “big”, he’s going for small.
“No big surprises, no big parties,” he says. “Just you and I and Jack.”
Elizabeth then replies, “That makes me very happy.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Walden (Wesley Salter) returns to town, putting more pressure than ever on Lucas and the residents of Hope Valley, which prompts Bill (Jack Wagner) to come up with a plan to stop Walden while new investors arrive from the oil company.
