What We Do In The Shadows (★★★★☆), FX’s vampire mockumentary based on the 2014 film of the same name from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Over five seasons, Shadows has evolved into itself while embracing the weirdness that made it worth watching in the first place.

BreAnna Bell Season 2 of “The Lincoln Lawyer” has taken the top spot on Netflix’s Top 10 English-Language TV chart following the release of Part one on July 6. During the July 10-16 viewing window, the first half of the season earned 8.3 million total views and 35.3 million hours viewed. Netflix recently began sharing the total views data in the official top 10 chart, which is calculated by dividing the hours viewed by total run time — which in this case, is 4.14 hours. Season 1 also joined the list of titles at No. 5 with 3.4 million total views. The second half of Season 2 is expected to arrive on Aug. 3, meaning the show could experience another momentum next month. “The Witcher” Season 3 led the list of titles consecutively over the previous two weeks following its June 29 debut. During the June 26-July 2 viewing window, the newest season raked in 15.2 million total views. (Netflix calculates total views by dividing hours viewed by the total runtime). Seasons 1 and 2 also rejoined the Top 10 list at No. 6 (2.6 million views) and No. 7 (2.4 million views) as fans revisited or discovered Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer’s journey. The title came in at No. 2 this week with 6.7 million total views and 32.1 million hours viewed and a run time of 4.49 hours.

“The Inventor,” a new stop-motion animated feature starring Daisy Ridley and Marion Cotillard, has secured U.S. theatrical distribution at Blue Fox Entertainment.

Blue Fox Entertainment has picked up U.S. rights to the stop-motion adventure comedy The Inventor, starring Stephen Fry as Leonardo da Vinci. Also starring Daisy Ridley, Marion Cotillard, Gauthier Battoue and Matt Berry, the film is set for an exclusive release in theaters nationwide on August 25th.

Charna Flam Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired the rights to Jim Capobianco’s directorial debut “The Inventor” and will release the film in theaters nationwide on Aug. 25. The stop-motion film includes the voices of Daisy Ridley, Marion Cotillard, Stephen Fry, Gauthier Battoue and Matt Berry. “Ratatouille” screenwriter, Capobianco wrote, produced and directed “The Inventor,” alongside co-director Pierre-Luc Granjon. “The Inventor” follows famed inventor and artist Leonardo da Vinci after he leaves Italy for France. In his new country, da Vinci joins the French court where he experiments with flying contraptions, invents machines and studies the human body, all in an effort to answer the question: “What is the meaning of life?”

New cast additions for season two include Yaya DaCosta, Lana Parrilla and Angelica Maria.The second season is based on the fourth book in the series, titled The Fifth Witness, and is split into two parts.The first five episodes will drop on Netflix on Thursday July 6 at 8am BST in the UK.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Sales agency The Playmaker has signed with Lieblingsfilm to handle international sales for their Zlin Film Festival winner “What the Finn?!” (“Kannawoniwasein”). “What the Finn?!” is based on the children’s book by Martin Muser, which was adapted for the screen by Klaus Döring, Adrian Bickenbach and Stefan Westerwelle, who is also the director of the film. The film had its world premiere at Zlin, where it won the main prize, the Golden Slipper Award for Best Feature Film for Children. The Playmaker will present “What the Finn?!” at the upcoming German Films Previews in Potsdam (July 5 – 8), where it will screen for international buyers.

The Morning Show is back!

Charna Flam AppleTV+ announced “The Morning Show” returns for its third season on Sept. 13, and provided a peek at the series’ newcomers, Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie. The 10-episode season will debut with its first two episodes and will be followed by one new episode every Wednesday through November 8.
