Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford has revealed that he switched his TV off ahead of Manchester City laying their hands on the Champions League trophy in Istanbul last Saturday evening.
City became champions of Europe for the very first time after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in a cagey encounter at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium. Midfielder Rodri scored the only goal of the game with just over 20 minutes of normal time left on the clock to help the Blues complete the Treble.
City had arrived in Istanbul having already won both the Premier League and the FA Cup, and so winning the Champions League meant they matched United's achievement of winning all three trophies in a single season. United, of course, became the first English side to win the Treble back in the 1998/99 campaign.
Though it was a moment for City's players and everyone associated with the club to cherish, Rashford was not in any mood to watch Ilkay Gundogan lift the trophy, revealing that he turned his TV off following the full-time whistle.

"It's exactly the same," Rashford said, revealing that he followed Trent Alexander-Arnold's lead and switched off his TV. "I like watching football, I like watching the best games so that's what I did.
"But after they win the game, I don't need to watch them celebrating and all that stuff, so yes, TV off!"
Rashford has since linked up with a crop of City players on international duty ahead of England's upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia. Though there is bound to be some friendly banter flying around, Rashford admits United's cross-city rivals deserved their success this season.
