Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Jason Steele has admitted his team were surprised by how Manchester United started during their defeat at Old Trafford.
United started off well in front of their home fans and were piling on the pressure from the outset. However, against the run of play they found themselves behind.
Former striker Danny Welbeck tapped home from just a few yards out in front of the Stretford End and changed the momentum of the contest. Rasmus Hojlund thought he had equalised just before the interval but VAR overruled the strike after adjudging the ball had gone out of play in the build-up.

The Seagulls took advantage of their good fortune and doubled their lead through Pascal Gross less than ten minutes after the break. When Joao Pedro made it three on 71 minutes the game was over as a contest.
There was one reason to smile though when Hannibal Mejbri scored his first goal for the Reds with a long-range effort but it was not enough to rescue any of the points. After the full-time whistle, Steele claimed Brighton took some time to adapt to United's style but felt they deserved the win.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said: "It feels great. A great win. Away at Old Trafford, it is an amazing feeling.
"We deserved it too, we played with courage, with a big heart and definitely deserved to win. We want to play on the front foot, aggressive, United played a bit different to what we expected, so we had to get to grips with that. But after 10-15 minutes we settled down and got a foothold in the game."
